Using a Bluefin PAX S300 device to take payment? There's a manual update for the device you'll need to perform on April 5, 2023.
If you're unable to get to your PAX S300 device on that date, not to worry - but the next time you need to use your device, you'll need to spend about ten minutes per device completing the steps below.
1. Press FUNC + 1
2. Enter the device password and press the green button
Don't know your device password? It should be one of the following:
- 1
- 8501201
- Today's date, formatted MMDDYYYY
- Note: "Today's date" is based on EST - if you're on the west coast, you may need to enter tomorrow's date
If these passwords don't work, submit a support request via the Client Community and let us know.
3. On the Main Menu, press the down arrow
4. Press System Settings
5. Press Database
6. Press Clear Database
7. Confirm with Yes
9. Reboot the device
Unplug the device for a few seconds, then plug it back in. The device will go through its normal initialization and end up on the "Protected by Bluefin" screen.
10. Go to the Terminals tab in PatronManager
Make sure that the PAX device is bound to your user.

12. Run a test transaction to make sure everything is working well
