Payments Insider: Monthly Transaction Reports for Bluefin Users

Updated on

"What's Payments Insider and why do I need to use it?"

In one word: accounting.

Every day, you get an email from Bluefin summarizing your transactions for the day. You can reconcile that with your Daily Disbursement Report (DRR), which is perfect for monitoring day-to-day sales activity.

But the DRR doesn't include credit card fees - and that's where Payments Insider comes in.

Payments Insider is your Elavon account portal. You'll use it to reconcile credit card fees and to review an entire month's worth of transactions.

In this article, we'll cover:

What happened to MerchantConnect?

Slowly, from early 2020 to early 2021, Elavon has been transitioning their clients from MerchantConnect to Payments Insider. Payments Insider offers all the same reporting and information as MerchantConnect did - it just works and looks better!

Log in to Payments Insider for the first time

If you've never logged in - or if you've been using MerchantConnect up until now - you'll need to register for Payments Insider here:

https://www.mypaymentsinsider.com/ui/#/us/en_US/self-service-registration

When you register, you'll need your Merchant ID - it's at the top of any previous statement you've received from Elavon.

If you can't find your Merchant ID, or cannot otherwise log into Payments Insider, ask around with your colleagues - it's possible one of them is your designated PCI Compliance Officer.

If no one at your organization is logging into Payments Insider, PayConex, or Trust submit a support request via the Client Community - we'll need to make sure your organization has a PCI officer.

Get your monthly statement report from Payments Insider

At the end of each month, we recommend you check that the credit card fees debited from your bank account match the fees on your Elavon monthly statement.

You can get that monthly statement from Payments Insider. Here's how:

1. Log in to Payments Insider

Here's a direct link: https://www.mypaymentsinsider.com

2. Click Statements

3. On the right, find "View Your Statements", then select the time frame you need

4. Download the report you're looking for

5. Open the file - your credit card fees are in the fees/charges section.

In addition to getting your monthly statement from Payments Insider, you can also opt to receive paper copies of your monthly statement or to only receive online statements. To adjust your statement delivery method in Payments Insider, you can follow these steps.

Please note that if you opt to receive paper statements via mail, you may incur a fee of up to $20 per month for the paper statement.
