Bluefin Compatible Payment Devices

Need a new payment device?  Want to start using chip readers?  We'll keep all the latest information about credit card reader options here.

  • SREDKey2 - "swipe or type" patron's credit cards
  • WisePad 3 - for your Mobile Box Office needs

When you're ready to order a new device, submit a case in the Client Community and we'll be happy to help! You must purchase Bluefin devices through PatronManager, and note that devices purchased elsewhere will not work with the system.

Make sure to order your devices 3-4 weeks before you need to use them, so you can get set up and run test transactions with an appropriate amount of lead time.

Are you using Webroot? Webroot is known to cause issues with these credit card devices. Make sure to work with your IT team or Webroot support if you are experiencing issues processing transactions with your device. PatronManager is unable to provide support for Webroot or other antivirus applications.

Remember, you'll need one credit card payment device per active workstation that needs to accept payment.  Therefore, if your box office has two open windows, but someone in your back office also needs to accept donations over the phone, you'll need a total of three devices.

SREDKey2

The SREDKey 2

The SREDKey2 connects to your computer via USB and can take credit card payments via swipe or keypad entry.  When you need to switch payment stations, just unplug it from one computer and plug it into the next.  It's also the easiest device to set up - we'll send you instructions for setup when the device is on the way.

WisePad 3

The WisePad 3

If you want to start using Mobile Box Office to sell tickets on the go, the WisePad 3 is the way to go. It connects to an Android tablet via Bluetooth and takes credit card payments via card swipe, card insert, or tap-to-pay.

Each device is $275 plus $15 shipping. If you're ready to order, submit a case in the Client Community and our Support Team will get that started for you.

Warning!

Do not allow the WisePad's battery to deplete completely! This triggers the device's anti-tampering systems and renders it completely unusable. Click here for the error message you'll see and how to get a new device.

To avoid this, Bluefin recommends you completely charge the WisePad's battery - even while in storage mode - at least once every six months.
