There are a variety of internet browsers available. These are the ones that work best with PatronManager, as well as a couple legacy browsers that you should not use.

A note about browser updates

These supported browsers are continually updated by their developers. This is a good thing, because updates include important security upgrades and patches to prevent bad actors from taking advantage of bugs and weaknesses. We always recommend keeping your browser(s) up to date.

With that said, sometimes browser updates can cause hiccups or unexpected behavior in PatronManager. If you experience unusual behavior or a sudden change (for example, something that was working fine last week suddenly stops working, or is working on one computer but not on another), a good first step is to try using a different supported browser to see if the behavior persists.

When you reach out to our support team about unusual behavior, we will commonly ask you which browser you are using. Then we may ask you to try the same action in a different supported browser for troubleshooting purposes. This helps us identify if the issue you're having is related to a browser update.

Recommended browsers

Google Chrome

Google Chrome works very well.  Download here.

Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox also works very well.  Download here.

Partially supported browsers

Apple Safari

Apple Safari is good overall, but some pages may not load correctly. Batch ticket printing also may not work in this browser. If you like using Safari, we recommend having Firefox or Chrome available (and up to date) on your computer as a backup.

Microsoft Edge (Chromium)

The latest version of Edge should work just fine, but we recommend having Chrome or Firefox available (and up to date) on your computer just in case you run into any issues.

Not supported

Microsoft Edge (legacy version)

Microsoft upgraded their Edge browser from the legacy, non-Chromium version to a new Chromium version in 2020, and ended support for the legacy version in 2021. You can tell the difference by the icon.

If you still have the legacy version of Edge, you should upgrade to the new, supported version, or use another supported browser instead.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Microsoft Internet Explorer is a legacy browser that is no longer supported by Microsoft, and has a number of known issues. Do not use this browser.
