How to Use the PatronManager Help Tab

Welcome to the PatronManager Help Tab! This is your manual for using PatronManager, embedded right into your account. The Help Tab is the first place to go if you have questions or need a refresher on how to do things in the system.

The Help Tab contains step-by-step instructions for how to use PatronManager features and will show you how to get your work done; plus it's available for you to reference whenever you need it!

As you continue to learn more about PatronManager and go through your journey, the Help Tab also provides continuing education resources to help you learn about new features and more advanced customizations and processes to help you make the most of your CRM.

The Help Tab is always growing, so come here often as we add to and update our resources.

Home Page layout

There's a lot to see when you click into the Help tab!  Let's take a look:

  1. Use the search bar to find what you're looking for quickly.  Search keywords - like "set up events", "process a donation", and "sell a ticket" - to bring up all our articles on your topic.
  2. Check out our featured articles and upcoming webinars in this sidebar.  We're adding new content every day, so keep your eyes peeled!
  3. Not sure what you're looking for? Click on a chapter topic to browse our articles:
    • If you're new to PatronManager or looking to train up on the system, we recommend starting with the "PatronManager Foundations: What to Do If You're New" section.  Our user onboarding process will give you an overview of PatronManager with foundational basics of the system and role-specific training resources.

Help Tab Tips

Searching like a pro

When using the Help Tab search bar to find what you're looking for, make sure to use keywords to quickly see all our articles on your topic.

To most efficiently search through your PatronManager manual, make sure that you're using the correct terms for objects and processes in the system.

For example, if you want to know how to create an event to sell tickets, searching "event," "Ticketable Event," or "Event Instance" will bring up a lot of helpful articles! Using search terms like "concert," "show," and "performance" won't be as helpful.

Found an article on your topic and want to learn more? At the top of each article, you'll see a link chain. Click the link just before the title of the article you're reading, and you'll see more the articles related to that topic:

Share articles with colleagues

Found an earth-shaking article you've just got to show your colleagues? Share the bookmark link at the bottom of each article!

These links stay the same as we update our articles, so by using the bookmark link, you'll always get the most up-to-date version of our documentation!

We have several video tutorials and recorded webinars to help you as part of your PatronManager manual. For best viewing, we recommend setting the video quality to 720p and watching the video in full-screen mode, if possible.

How to adjust video settings
1. Click on the gear at the lower-right of the embedded video to check the Quality setting
2. Set the Quality to 720p (if it's not already)

Click the arrow next to Quality:

Select 720p:

3. Click the fullscreen icon to put the video in full-screen mode
