How to Use QR Codes to Scan in Members: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1028422
If you're using our Non-Ticketed Member Admission feature, you can print QR codes on membership cards to make scanning members at the door quick and easy. In this article, we'll show you how to find the QR code and give you an example of such a membership card.
1. If you haven't yet, add the QR code to your Contact pages
Check out this setup article - adding the QR code is the last step, but you should walk through the entire article if you haven't enabled Non-Ticketed Member Admission yet.
2. Get a scanner
If you haven't done so already, you'll need a QR code scanner that hooks up to your computer via USB. We've tested out these three scanners, but any USB QR code scanner should work:
3. Once you've added the QR code, create membership cards
Now it's time to create a membership card for each of your members! We'll need to download the QR code, create a card in photo editing software, and print the card.
3.2. Using a photo editing software, design a membership card and add the QR code to it
If you have Photoshop, great! If you don't, GIMP is an excellent, free alternative.
Here's a good place to start:
- 3.375 inch width x 2.125 inch height
- This is the standard ID card size, so it'll fit easily in your patron's wallet - with or without lamination
- Landscape
- Name and additional information on the left, QR code on the right
If you're using GIMP, you can use this handy template as a starting place.
3.3. Print your card and send it off to your patron
Now they get to feel like part of the club!
4. Hooray! It's time to admit a card-carrying member
Now, from the Member Admissions app in PatronManager, use your scanner on a QR code - it'll automatically bring up a special version of the member's Contact record, ready for you to admit them and their guests.
