How to Send Portal-Specific Links to Your Patrons: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1088858
Have you ever wanted to direct your PatronPortal members to a specific page on the Public Ticketing Site (PTS)?
Perhaps your organization wants to link members to a specific event for a special offer, or maybe a Portal member has asked for a link to their donation history on their online profile. This article will show you how to create direct links to specific parts of a Portal member's profile and different pages on your PTS. We'll cover:
- How to create a Portal link to a page within a Portal member's profile
- How to create a Portal link to a page on the PTS
How to create a Portal link to a page within a Portal member's profile
This step will show you how to create a link to any part of a Portal member's profile; this way, when a Portal member clicks the link, they'll log in to Portal and land right on that specific part of their profile.
3. Add one of these values to direct your Portal user to a tab in Portal
What you'll add to your Public Ticketing Site URL will depend on where you want your Portal users to land:
-
For a Portal user's My Profile tab: Add
portal/profile
-
For a Portal user's Orders tab: Add
portal/orders
-
For a Portal user's Donations tab: Add
portal/donations
-
For a Portal user's Subscription renewal tab: Add
portal/pendingRenewals
-
For a Portal user's Benefit renewal tab: Add
portal/renewableBenefits
So, for example, to link to a Portal user's Orders tab here, our URL would be:
https://superherotheatre.my.salesforce-sites.com/ticket/#/portal/orders
4. Go to the tab you want your patron to directly access
In this example, we'll head to the Donations tab
How to link a Portal user to a specific PTS page
You can also create a Portal link to a PTS page other than the default landing page. Let's say you want to direct Portal members to buy tickets to the upcoming production of CARRIE: THE MUSICAL. Below will show you how to create a link to a specific page on the PTS; when a Portal member clicks the link, they'll log in to Portal and land on that page.
If your link is to a Portal-only page (i.e. an Event Instance in Early Access), non-Portal users won't be able to log in, and access will be restricted as normal. Convenient!
3. On the page, copy the full URL and paste it in a text document
You'll need this in the next step.
4. Add the following text string to the end of the URL:
Add this to the end of the URL:
?promptForLogin
In this example, our URL goes from:
https://patronmanagerdemo.secure.force.com/ticket#/events/a0S50000006Zp0ZEAS
to:
https://patronmanagerdemo.secure.force.com/ticket#/events/a0S50000006Zp0ZEAS?promptForLogin
