How to Report on Discount Codes

If you use Discount Codes, then it makes sense that you'll want to see how many patrons took advantage of your deals! You may also wish to make sure that limitations are being enforced appropriately. So how can you do this?

With reporting, of course!

In this article, we'll show you two different ways to report on Discount Codes:

Reporting on Discount Codes using a Custom Report

If you're looking for a general overview of what Discount Codes were used and how many times they were used, then you can use a custom report from the Reports tab to find this information.

Main Discount Report

We've got a pre-built report to help you find this information on Discount Code usage called the Main Discount Report.

How can I find this report?
1. Go to the Reports tab

2. Click All Reports

3. Find and select Main Discount Report

Hold on, I don't see it!

No worries! We'll just build it from scratch. This should only take 5-10 minutes.

While these steps will show you how to build a report to mimic the Main Discount Report, you can adjust it to fit your needs!

3.1. Click New Report

3.2. Click All

3.3. Find and select Ticket Orders and Ticket Order Items

3.4. Click Start Report

3.5. In the Filters pane, adjust the pre-set filters

Set them to:

  1. Show Me All ticket orders
  2. Created Date All Time
3.6. Add some filters

Specifically:

  1. Order Status equals To Be Qualified, Complete
  2. Discount Code: Name not equal to ""
  3. Status not equal to Deleted
3.7. In the Outline pane, set some Group Rows

You'll want to add them in this order:

  1. Ticketable Event: Name
  2. Ticket Price Level: Name
  3. Ticket Allocation
3.8. Remove the Ticket Order Item Column

Since this won't provide us much information, we'll remove this for now. You can always add it back in, if you wish!

3.9. Add the following Columns

  2. Last Name
  3. Item Detail
  4. Quantity
  5. Unit Price
  6. Subtotal
  7. Discount Total
  8. Fees
  9. Order Item Total
  10. Delivery Fee
3.10. Add a Summary Formula

  1. Column Name: Tickets Total
  2. Formula Output Type: Currency
  3. Decimal Points: 2
  4. Formula: Copy and paste: PatronTicket__TicketOrderItem__c.PatronTicket__OrderItemTotal__c:SUM +PatronTicket__TicketOrder__c.PatronTicket__ShippingFee__c:SUM - PatronTicket__TicketOrderItem__c.PatronTicket__Fees__c:SUM
  5. Apply

  2. Formula Output Type: Currency
  3. Decimal Points: 2
  4. Formula: Copy and paste: PatronTicket__TicketOrderItem__c.PatronTicket__OrderItemTotal__c:SUM +PatronTicket__TicketOrder__c.PatronTicket__ShippingFee__c:SUM - PatronTicket__TicketOrderItem__c.PatronTicket__Fees__c:SUM-PatronTicket__TicketOrderItem__c.PatronTicket__DiscountTotal__c:SUM
  5. Apply
3.14. Save & Run

  1. Report Name: Main Discount Report
  2. Folder: PatronTicket Reports 3.0
  3. Save

Reporting on Discount Codes using our Add-on Package
