Good for:

Organizations who depend on a large volunteer base and/or are entirely volunteer-run. Also good for organizations who want to recruit volunteers from their patron database or organizations who require volunteer hours from their board.

How it works:

This app uses new objects called Jobs, Shifts, and Hours along with Contacts and Campaigns to track availability of volunteers and volunteer prospects, along with their special skills, right on their Contact page. You can also track how many hours your volunteers have worked, and even let volunteers sign up for projects via your website if you choose.

Volunteers for Salesforce also includes its own tracking dashboard and reports.

For an overview of the installation process, resources, and a couple additional configuration steps to make the app run smoothly in PatronManager, check out our article.  You'll also find two recorded webinars: one within that article and one here.
