Can't find the "New Grant" action on the Account page, or the "New Grant Payment" action on the Grant record? In this article, we'll show you how to add them!

1. How to add the "New Grant" action to the Account record

The "New Grant" action allows you to create a Grant record from the Account record with the click of a button.  Let's go add this action to the Foundation Account page layout  - and any other Account layouts you need.

Add the "New Grant" action

1. Click on the gear and go to Setup

2. Go to the Object Manager and click on "Account"

3. Go to the Page Layouts tab in the left panel and click on Foundation Layout

4. Click on "Mobile & Lightning Actions" in the left panel of the editing palette

5. Drag the "New Grant" action from the editing palette to the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section

6. Click "Save"

7. Repeat steps 3-6 for any Page Layouts that need the "New Grant" actions

Foundations are the most common granters, but perhaps for you, Organizations also provide grants. Add this action to any applicable page payouts.

2. How to add the "New Grant Payment" action on the Grant record

Once a grant has been awarded and payments start coming in, you'll need to track those payments!  The "New Grant Payment" action creates a Grant Payment record from the Grant record, connecting it to the parent Grant record and retaining crucial information from the Grant without having to enter it all again.

Add the "New Grant Payment" action

1. Click on the gear and go to Setup

2. Go to the Object Manager, search "donation" and click on Donation

3. Go to the Page Layouts tab in the left panel and click on Grant Layout

4. Click on "Mobile & Lightning Actions" in the left panel of the editing palette

5. Drag the "New Grant Payment" action from the editing palette to the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section

6. Click "Save"
