Your patrons can redeem their STS Gift Cards over the phone, in person, or online! In this article, we'll show you how to handle phone/in-person redemption.

1. Add tickets to an order, just like you normally would

2. Change the Payment Method on the Ticket Order to "STS Gift Card"

3. When you reach the payment screen, input the gift card number, or select an existing gift card from the drop-down list

You can either select an existing gift card (1); or swipe the gift card with a MagTek swiper (different from your credit card readers), or you can type the number on the gift card manually (2).

If you choose to enter a new gift card number, you can choose to save it to the patron's record for future use (3) or use the Check Balance button to see how much is left on the card (4). These two options are only applicable for newly-entered gift cards; existing gift cards are already on file and they display the card's current balance in the dropdown box.

Gift Cards will only appear on file the drop-down list if they've been created or used via the PatronManager STS integration. If you don't see these Gift Card fields on the Payment Information screen, submit a Support Request via the Client Community so we can fully integrate STS with your account.

4. Process Payment

You can proceed even if the Gift Card balance is less than the Order Total, as long as it is enough to cover all the fees on the Ticket Order.

5. Watch for messages

Depending on how much of the order the gift card can cover, you'll get one of three messages:

If the gift card balance is less than the order total and not enough to cover the Order fees...

...you'll receive an error message, and the Order will not process. You'll still be on the same Payment screen, and your patron will need to use another payment method.

If the balance is less than the order total, but can cover the Order fees...

...the Order will process and a message will appear like this:

The Order Status will change to "Partially Paid" and you can complete it with another payment method.

If the gift card balance is greater than the Order total...

...the Order will be marked Complete. The message pop-up will show the remaining balance.
