When you need to refund a ticket to a patron, you can load that refunded amount onto an STS gift card! This article will show you how to handle this situation.

1. To refund to gift card, find your Ticket Order and perform a refund as normal, up until you choose a refund Payment Method

2. When it's time to choose a refund Payment Method, click the drop-down and select the STS Gift Card Payment Method

On the right side, you can choose an existing gift card (if there are any logged in PatronManager), or choose "Issue New Gift Card"

If you don't see an "Issue a New Gift Card" option, submit a case via the Client Community to let us know you don't have it, and we'll set up the integration for you!

When you complete the refund, the value will automatically load onto the STS Gift Card, which will be attached to the patron's Contact in PatronManager. You'll be able to use it as a payment method for future internally-created ticket orders for this patron, just like a stored credit card.

Patrons can also redeem their STS Gift Card online. To do so, they will need the gift card number, which will require a step on your end when issuing it because the gift card number will not be included in the automatic Refund Confirmation Template.

You can find the gift card number from the Stored Payment Methods related list on a Contact record, which you can then copy into an email, or through the STS WebTerminal Tab, where you can email a receipt of the gift card from the Inquiry Tab.
