While PatronManager is not specifically set up to refund a portion of a ticket, you can achieve the same result by exchanging the ticket for one of a lower value. To do so, we might first need to create a new, lower price level just for this purpose. This article will walk you through the entire process.

Whoops!  We charged one of our patrons for two full price tickets for two, full-price, adult tickets, but one of them should have been at a discounted, members-only price.

To fix this problem, we'll need to make sure a "Members" Price Level exists for this Event Instance, and exchange the ticket to that Price Level - let's get started.

2. Click "Expand All"

3. Check that the appropriate Price Level exists, and create one if it does not

In this case, our discounted, members-only Price Level doesn't exist yet, so we'll need to create it.

3.1. Click "Create Price Level"

3.2. Fill in information about the Price Level and click "Save"

3.3. The new price level has been created

You're now ready to exchange the ticket for one at the discounted price!  If you'd like a lesson on how to do that, check out how to exchange a ticket for a less expensive ticket here.

Does the patron need to keep their same seat for a Reserved Seating event, but at a different price? Then you'll need to do two exchanges:

  1. First to a new seat at the same, old price
    • Make sure not to send the patron a Confirmation Email for this exchange!
  2. Then back to their original seat at the new price to perform the partial refund
