Sometimes you'll need to change the orientation of your ticket on your Boca printer. Whether it's because your tickets are printing upside down or the perforations on your tickets are not in the correct place, you can fix this by changing your printer orientation!

You have two options for changing your printer's orientation:

We'll take you step-by-step on how to change your printer's orientation using both of these options.

See this ticket? The perforations are in the wrong place! Let's get this fixed.

How to Flip the Orientation on your Boca Printer

Since this process will make changes to your Boca printer's settings, these steps will be all about what to do with your printer.

Let's flip it!

1. Press and hold both the MENU and CHOICES buttons until the LCD window starts scrolling through different topics

2. Use the MENU button to scroll to the ORIENTATION topic

3. Use the CHOICE button to toggle between NORMAL and REVERSE

NORMAL is the standard orientation, while REVERSE will flip the ticket 180 degrees.

If this is the first time you've tried changing your printer orientation, set it to REVERSE to see if that fixes the issue.

5. Once you have the orientation set to print properly, the LCD will display SAVING CHANGES! and reset the printer

Are your tickets still not printing correctly? Try replacing your browser's PDF viewer with Adobe Acrobat!

How to Replace Your Browser's PDF Viewer with Adobe Acrobat

This process will make adjustments in your browser. We'll use Google Chrome as our example here, but you may find yourself taking these steps in Firefox too.

We recommend flipping the orientation on your Boca printer first to see if that solves the printing issue.

Time to replace it!

1. In your browser, go to Settings

3. Click Site settings

4. Scroll down and click Additional content settings

5. Click PDF documents

6. Change the Default behavior from Open PDFs in Chrome to Download PDFs

7. Install Adobe Acrobat

Here's a direct link: https://get.adobe.com/reader/

8. Follow the instructions to install Adobe Acrobat

If you get a pop-up asking if it's OK for Adobe to make changes to your computer, click "Yes."

9. Go to an order and print a test ticket

If you need a refresher on how to do this, here are some directions.

I got a pop-up error message about a pop-up blocker!

This means you'll need to disable your pop-up settings. You'll want to always allow pop-ups from PatronManager in your browser.

How you do this will vary depending on your browser and the browser's version, but you'll typically see some sort of icon in the address bar, like this:

10. Click the arrow next to the downloaded ticket and choose "Show in folder"

11. Right-click the file and choose Open with > Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

12. When the file opens, click the Print icon

13. Make the following adjustments and click "Print"

  1. Under the Printer dropdown menu, choose the Boca printer you want to print to
  2. Choose "Actual size" under Page Sizing & Handling
  3. Choose "Landscape" under Orientation
  4. Click "Print"
