With Lightning comes a whole host of amazing features, and we've compiled the greatest hits! These features provide a few simple ways to improve your daily life and optimize Lightning. If you want to take advantage of all the customizations Lightning has to offer, here's a great place to start!
In this article, we'll introduce you to:
Actions
Actions are custom buttons you can set up to accomplish common tasks quickly, and they're super cool! With actions, you can swiftly accomplish logging a call, creating a new Contact, Donation, or Account record, and more!
There are two types of actions - object-specific and global.
Check out our Actions in Lightning article to get started.
Lightning layouts
In Lightning, your customization options grow exponentially. You can add components to your page layouts, like Sales Paths, quick access to your related list items in the Related List Quick Links section, and much more.
Check out this article to explore the possibilities!
Conditional Record Detail Components
Speaking of enhanced customization options, you can use the Lightning App Builder to make certain components visible only if criteria are met. For instance, you could show the related list component on a Contact only if there is an active Benefit.
While not an official PatronManager or Salesforce resource, we recommend checking out this article from The Accidental Admins to learn more about this layout feature.

Kanban view helps you keep track of donations in different stages. This view is perfect for a development director tracking large asks or a grant writer working on several grant proposals.
