List Views display a quick glance of an Object's records, based on certain criteria, on the home page of most tabs in PatronManager.  In this article, we'll find out what List Views are, where they can be found, and how they can be utilized.

What exactly is a List View, anyway?

While reporting is a robust tool for viewing data based on certain criteria, List Views are useful in that they provide an immediate glance of certain criteria from an Object's home page, like Accounts, Campaigns and Donations. For instance, you can create a view in your Campaigns tab that exclusively displays Mailchimp campaigns.

List Views are located on the home page of each tab in PatronManager

In this example, this Accounts List View shows us recently viewed Accounts.

All tabs contain a built-in View that displays all records. In PatronManager, some Objects, like Accounts, Contacts and Donations, have additional packaged List Views

To see existing List Views, expand the drop-down menu. You can select from the menu to go to that List View.

You can perform a number of actions from the List View Controls drop-down menu

We'll talk more about how to create and edit List Views in a different article.

In the List View Controls drop-down menu, you have multiple options, like creating a new List View, cloning a List View, editing a List View's List Filters, selecting the fields you'd like to display on a List View, and more.

You can also edit a record directly from a List View when it's filtered by one Record Type

Hover over a line item within a column, and click on the pencil to make edits.

If you filter a list view by a single Record Type, you can even make edits en masse from the list view!

Expand or collapse content Can you show me editing en masse?

Sure thing! In this example, we've set this list view to filter for only Donations with the PatronTicket Record Type.

If we click hover over the Acknowledged column, we can click the pencil icon

Update selected items and Apply

Click Save

Save

And the updates are made!
