Web Accessibility Statements: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1689845
A web accessibility statement is a publicly-available document on your website that provides information about the accessibility of your sites. Accessibility statements show your website visitors that you care about them, that you are mindful of accessibility needs, and provide information to help them navigate your sites. At PatronManager, we believe accessibility is critically important; and while we are not accessibility consultants, we're making this information available to help you craft your own accessibility statement.
In this article, we'll go over some of the main aspects of accessibility statements, information about accessibility on PatronManager sites, and provide links to resources to help you get started.
What should an accessibility statement include?
As a baseline, your accessibility statement should include:
- A statement of commitment to accessibility as a social responsibility and to providing an accessible and inclusive experience
- The accessibility standard you apply to your sites (such as WCAG 2 Level AA)
- Contact information in case users experience issues
It's also good to include the following information:
- Any known limitations, to avoid frustrating your users
- Measures your organization takes to ensure accessibility
- Technical prerequisites, such as supported web browsers
- References to applicable national or local laws and policies

Accessibility on PatronManager sites
As PatronManager sites are only a part of your online presence, you'll need to do an accessibility audit of all your sites when completing an accessibility statement. Here is information about PatronManager sites to aid you in your process.
At PatronManager, we view design as the cause of disablement - a mismatch between design capabilities and a person's needs. That is, bad design is disabling. Good design provides the flexibility to meet users' needs, and therefore is enabling. We strive to provide sites that are:
- Perceivable: the site allows users to perceive it through one of their senses
- Operable: navigation tools are sufficient to complete tasks
- Understandable: information and operation of the site is clear
- Robust: compatible with the widest possible range of assistive technology
PatronManager takes accessibility seriously and we build accessibility checks into our development process for new features, particularly for your public sites, and aim for compliance with WCAG 2 Level AA. We regularly validate and test accessibility with live user auditing, and also employ industry-standard accessibility testing tools such as Lighthouse. We support current versions of Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari web browsers. There are currently no known accessibility limitations on PatronManager public sites.
Keep in mind that some aspects of accessibility on PatronManager sites require attention from you as well - for example, providing alt text for images, ensuring that any links you add clearly identify their purpose in the link text, and observing color contrast warnings in the Public Ticketing Site Theme Builder are up to you. You can find more information about managing these aspects here: Online Accessibility Guidelines
