When you create a new Contact with a new Account internally or during qualification, PatronManager creates an Account Name using a default format and sets a Record Type for the Account. But how does it do that?

The answer: PatronSignup Settings!

In this article, we'll show you:

Finally we'll go over some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

1. Go to the App Launcher to find and select PatronSignup Settings

Find and select PatronSignup Settings

2. Click Edit

Click Edit

Do not Disable Account Creation During qualification or adjust any Account Record Types Excluded from Qualification. Doing so will break PatronManager functionality.

3. Make your edits

I want to edit the default Account Record Type!

Select the Record Type you want to set as the default from the Default Account Record Type for New Accounts picklist

Select from the Default Account Record Type for New Accounts
I want to edit the Account Name format!

Select the format you want to set as the default from the Account Name Format picklist

Select from the Account Name Format

4. Click Save

Click Save

Now, newly-created Accounts will default to using the new Account Record Type and Account Name format that you set.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Will custom Account Record Types I create appear in the Default Account Record Type for New Accounts picklist?

Yes! As long as your custom Record Type for Accounts is marked as Active in Setup, it will be available in the Default Account Record Type for New Accounts picklist in PatronSignup Settings.

Can I create custom Account Name Formats?

Not at this time. If this is something you'd like to see, or if you have an idea for an Account Name Format that should be included in the standard list, submit a Product Idea in the Client Community!

Will changing the Account Name Format update my existing Account Names?

Changing the Account Name Format only updates the default Account Name for newly-created Accounts, not existing Accounts.

If you have existing Accounts you would like to update, you can create a List View to do in-line edits for the Account Names or our team can help with a Data Update Data Project.

If you choose to do in-line edits with a List View, make sure the List View is filtered by a single Record Type!
