Salesforce offers two different Profile User Interfaces: enhanced and non-enhanced.
While both ultimately provide you with access to the same information, they do so with different views.
In general, instructions in the PatronManager Help Tab use and show non-enhanced Profile User Interfaces. While this is consistent, it can be confusing if your organization is using the enhanced Profile User Interface.
To help, in this article we'll show you how to toggle from the enhanced interface to the non-enhanced one so that your screens match our directions!
What does enhanced Profile User Interface look like?
If enhanced Profile User Interface is turned on, when you get to a Profile in Setup, it'll look something like this:
You'll notice that this looks different than a lot of the instructions in the Help Tab, which use the non-enhanced Profile User Interface, which looks like this:
So, if you landed on the enhanced Profile User Interface, how can you switch to the non-enhanced interface to more closely follow the screenshots in the Help Tab? We'll show you how.
How to switch between Profile User Interfaces
If you landed on the enhanced Profile User Interface, there's no need to panic! We'll switch a quick setting to make the view non-enhanced again.
1. Find and select User Management Settings in Setup
2. Switch Enhanced Profile User Interface from "Enabled" to "Disabled"
When you land on the User Management Settings page, Enhanced Profile User Interface will show a green "Enabled" toggle:
After switching this off, the toggle will be blue and say "Disabled":
We do not recommend adjusting any other settings here!
3. Go back to Profiles to continue your work
Now that you're in the non-enhanced view, you can go back to Profiles and the Profile you were working with to continue on with what you were doing.
What if I need to switch back to the enhanced Profile User Interface?
No worries! If you need to switch back to the enhanced interface for any reason, just follow the steps above with one change: switch Enhanced Profile User Interface from "Disabled" to "Enabled!"
