Critical Update Pop-Ups and Why You Should Never Activate Them: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/829674
Activating Salesforce's Critical Updates on your own can cause major problems in your PatronManager account. You'll want to always ignore these notifications.
Have you ever seen a pop-up like this one appear in your PatronManager account alerting you to "Critical Updates"?
It's extremely important to select "No" here, for a few reasons.
1. Activating the Critical Updates is something the team here at PatronManager will take care of for you.
Before we activate the Critical Updates in your account, we run tests that ensure that Salesforce's updates don't inadvertently cause harm in your PatronManager account. Then, once we're sure the updates are safe, we allow them to run.
You can think of Salesforce's Critical Updates like a software update for an iPhone or Android device. It's always a good idea to know what you're getting into before downloading, and since Salesforce's updates can sometimes interfere with PatronManager functionality, we assume the responsibility for doing this research for you.
2. Every Critical Update has an auto-activation date, so we promise you're not missing out on any shiny new Salesforce features. Your system will be fully updated as soon as we've confirmed it's safe. We've got your back!
Our Product Development Team works with the auto-activation dates in mind so that all safety tests are completed before each Critical Update rolls out.
3. Choosing to activate the Critical Updates on your own can break things in PatronManager. No one wants that!
We know it can be tempting to explore settings, and it may feel like the "right" thing to do to activate these updates. But remember, doing so on your own can cause serious issues with PatronManager functionality (including the ability to send out emails and process transactions, in some cases).
When in doubt, reach out!
If you have a question about Salesforce's Critical Updates, or if you or a colleague accidentally activate the updates, submit a help request from the PatronManager Client Community right away, and our Client Support Team will be happy to assist.
