How to Add a Web Tab to View a Website within PatronManager: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/829711
Sometimes it can be useful to reference a specific website from within PatronManager.
For example, you could give your team quick access to an internal operations manual. This would behave very similarly to how you currently access the PatronManager Help Tab, but specifically for your own documentation. Think about it: your team could reference your specific policy about refunds and exchanges, for example, without leaving PatronManager.
This article will show you how to create a tab to embed a specific website.
In this article, we will use the example above where an organization has their policies and procedures manual stored in Box.com, and they want all PatronManager users to have access to that.
Setting up this web tab in PatronManager should take about 10-20 minutes.
1. Go to Setup
5. Fill in the fields, then click Next
- Tab Type: URL
- Tab Label: What you want your Users to see as this tab's name
- Tab Style: Select the icon you want to use with the magnifying glass lookup icon
- Next
6. Paste the link to the website you wish to reference, and click Next
For this example, we're using the Box.com login page. This will take people to this login screen when they click on that tab within PatronManager.
If you have a website with open-access or built-in login credentials, you can paste the detailed URL here. Make sure that your team will have access to the page from the settings from the website you're using for the web tab.
You can put just about any website into an embedded tab like this. We don't suggest embedding everything as a tab, but it's a great way to help your staff access important sites quickly.
Other possible ways to use a web tab are:
- A shared Google Doc that houses day-of-show notes. The box office can update this daily, so the tab would always be current for staff.
- If you have a scheduling site for staff, this would be a great place for people to reference that site.
If you just want your team to reference a website often, but have it open in a new tab outside of PatronManager, you might consider using a custom link on your Home page.
