Do you want to use Google Analytics on your Public Ticketing Site? You can! PatronManager provides a plug-and-play integration with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), so all you have to do is plug in your GA4-ID into PatronManager, and PatronManager will send standard tracking and eCommerce data to your Google Analytics account. In this article, we'll cover how to connect your Google Analytics account to PatronManager and what information PatronManager will be sending over.

(For an overview of all your analytics tracking options, check out All About Analytics on the Public Ticketing Site.)

Connect Google Analytics to PatronManager

There's just one step for you to do in PatronManager to connect it to your Google Analytics account, and you'll be all set!

1. Head over to PatronTicket Settings

You can get there from the PatronTicket Hub:

3. Click the "New Site Analytics" button

4. Fill in the settings as indicated below

  1. Name it "Google Analytics 4"
  2. In the Provider dropdown, choose "Google Analytics (G-ID)"
  3. In the Tracking ID field, paste your Google Analytics 4 ID (GA4-ID). It starts with "G-"
  4. For Status, you can choose between several options. Here's what each option means:
    1. Both: this option will enable tracking on both the draft version and the live version of the Public Ticketing Site.
    2. Disabled: your analytics will not work if you choose this option, but you could use it later if you wanted to "turn off" previously-connected analytics without deleting them from PatronManager entirely.
    3. Draft: this option will enable tracking on ONLY the Draft version of the Public Ticketing Site.
    4. Published: this option will enable tracking on only the published (live) version of the Public Ticketing Site.
  5. Save!

That's it -- you're up and running! Now you can sit back and watch the tracking data roll in.

Hang on, my Google Analytics ID starts with "UA-"!

Google is retiring Universal Analytics (UA) in 2023, and replacing it with their new and improved Google Analytics 4. Our integration is built only for Google’s up-to-date tool, so you won’t be able to use an UA-ID (the one beginning with "UA-"), as our integration only accepts a GA4-ID (beginning with "G-"). Once you make the switch to GA4, you can take advantage of our plug-and-play integration!

What tracking data does PatronManager send over?

Analytics events tracking

  • Remove from Cart: an item was removed from the cart
  • View Item: a user viewed an Event Instance page
