How to Create and Use Change Sets: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1045572
When you begin experimenting with more complex customization and automation in your PatronManager account, it's important to test your customizations in a sandbox. But, when you do that, it means rebuilding your customizations from scratch in your production (live) PatronManager account... right?
Nope! Change sets allow you to, with a few clicks, transfer your full customizations from your sandbox to your production account without starting from scratch.
Read on to learn more about what a change set is and the best resources to learn how to use this amazing tool!
Plus, you get to see the magical #DeploymentFish!
What's a change set?
Change sets are a method to send customizations from one Salesforce org (such as your sandbox) to another (your production account). Salesforce has made an excellent video on creating and deploying a change set.
This video specifically displays the Classic interface. The general content, however, is very much the same in Lightning.
When should I use a change set?
You can use a change set anytime you're implementing a change to an object - from something as small as a new picklist item or a new custom field, to as large as a suite of custom objects with integrated processes.
However, we know using a change set for every little thing, such as a new picklist item, isn't necessarily realistic. Therefore, we recommend using a change set anytime you're working with a new app, a new custom object, or a new process automation (such as Process Builder).
