Using Google Analytics on Donation Forms: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1400853
If you'd like to use Google Analytics to track visits to your Donation Form(s), as of the February 2023 Release, you can! PatronManager provides a plug-and-play integration with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), so all you have to do is plug in your GA4-ID, and PatronManager will send tracking and eCommerce data to your Google Analytics account. This article will walk you through the steps to add your GA4-ID to Donation Forms and what information PatronManager will send over.
This should take about 10 minutes, and you'll need your GA4-ID number. Ready? Let's go!
Connect Google Analytics to PatronManager
There's just one step for you to do in PatronManager to connect it to your Google Analytics account, and you'll be all set!
1. Find your GA4-ID
This is your specific GA4-ID, which you'll find in your Google Analytics account. The GA4-ID should be formatted as
G-___
If the ID is formatted as UA-___
, then that's the wrong one! Make sure you've transitioned from Google's legacy version to Google Analytics 4.
6. Paste your GA4-ID into the "Google Analytics (G-ID)" field, and save!
Hang on, my Google Analytics ID starts with "UA-"!
Google is retiring Universal Analytics (UA) in 2023, and replacing it with their new and improved Google Analytics 4. Our integration is built only for Google’s up-to-date tool, so you won’t be able to use an UA-ID (the one beginning with "UA-"), as our integration only accepts a GA4-ID (beginning with "G-"). Once you make the switch to GA4, you can take advantage of our plug-and-play integration!
That's it!
Now you'll start to see data about online donations in your Google Analytics account.
What tracking data does PatronManager send over?
