Lightning Transition: Apps, Snapshots, and Themes: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1770702

Here, you'll:

  • Clean up the App Launcher (makes Development/Marketing/Ticketing views available for colleauges)
  • Make CRM Snapshots available
  • Enable the PatronManager Theme (beautifies Lightning)

This should take about a half hour to complete. Let's get started!

1. Clean up the App Launcher

By default, there's a lot of Salesforce-specific and non-Lightning versions of PatronManager apps in the App Launcher, so let's get it ready for you and your staff to use.

Let's clean it up:

1.1. In Lightning, click the gear in the upper right and then click Setup

1.2. Search for and click on App Menu

1.3. Scroll down and make sure these apps are not visible in Lightning

Click the toggle to the right to toggle them off.

All of these apps will have the horizontal PM logo and say "No Description" under them.  They are:

  • PatronManager
  • Box Office User
  • Box Office Manager
  • Development
  • Marketing Dept
  • PatronTicket

These apps may not be all in one block in the list like this, but you can use ctrl+F to easily find them in the list!

1.4. Now, drag the following apps to the top of the App Menu editor in this order:

Make sure each app is visible!

This will be the default order of apps for your entire organization.

  1. PatronManager
  2. PMGR Fundraising
  3. PMGR Ticketing
  4. PMGR Ticketing Admin
  5. PMGR Marketing
  6. PMGR Reporting
  7. PMGR General Settings
  8. PMGR Ticketing Settings
  9. PMGR Member Admission (if you use member admissions)

1.5. After ordering the apps, open the App Launcher to see the new order at the top!

2. Add CRM Snapshots to Lightning apps

CRM Snapshots are powerful, easy-to-use reports to answer full-picture questions about your audience base, like "Who donated money two years ago but not this year?".

CRM Snapshots are not easily accessible in Lightning by default, so...

Let's add them

2.1. Get back into Setup

2.2. In Setup, search for and click on App Manager

2.3. Scroll down to find this large chunk of apps that are "Lightning (Managed)" and find the one called "PatronManager"; click the arrow to the right and then Edit

These apps may not be all in one block in the list like this, but you can sort these apps by App Type and use ctrl+F to easily find them in the list!

2.4. Click Navigation Items in the left sidebar

2.5. Search for CRM Snapshots, click it, then use the right arrow to move it to the Selected Items column

2.6. Click Save

2.7. At the top of the screen, click Back

2.8. Repeat steps 3-7 for three more apps

  1. PMGR Fundraising
  2. PMGR Marketing
  3. PMGR Reporting
  4. PMGR Ticketing Admin

3. Activate the PatronManager theme

The Lightning Experience is great new house, but we need some wallpaper and pictures to make it nice and cozy; that's where the PatronManager theme comes in.

Let's decorate:

3.1. Get back into Setup

3.2. In Setup, search for and click on Themes and Branding

3.3. Find the "Custom (Managed)" version of the PatronManager theme, then use the arrow menu to the right to Activate it

You should now see a checkmark next to the correct theme.

You're done!
