Suggested Donations on Your PTS: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1023726
Asking for a donation during the purchasing process on your public ticketing site (PTS) is an extremely effective way to bring in additional donations.
In PatronManager, you can suggest a fixed donation (e.g. always $10) or a percentage of the ticket order. You've can also choose when in the purchasing process you'd like to ask your patrons for a donation.
In this article, we'll show you how to:
- Decide between full page or in-line suggested donations
- Add/update that suggested donation to your public ticketing site
- Remove your suggested donation ask
We'll also cover some common Frequently Asked Questions. Let's go!
1. Decide between full page or in-line suggested donations
You've got two options for how to present your ask, and they look pretty different.
No matter which option you choose, you'll still be able to choose be able to ask for percentage of the ticket order or a constant amount.
We definitely recommend the full page option - you make the biggest impact, and many of our clients have found success with it!
Option 1: Full page donation ask
As a step in the purchasing path, you'll have your patrons' full attention. You can also add text, images, video, and/or audio to make the strongest ask possible.
2. Add/update the suggested donation on your public ticketing site
How you proceed depends on which option you want to use - full page or in-line.
The central Donation landing page settings are in PatronTicket settings; there, you'll set your suggested donation amount and add your Donation Call to Action header and content.
2.1. Decide what donation amount and type you'd like to suggest
There are two types of suggested donations to choose from:
- Fixed: suggest the same donation amount every time, to every patron ($5.00, for example)
- Percentage: suggest a donation equal to a percentage of the order (10% of the order total, for example). Note that the system will always round up to the nearest multiple of $5.00 when calculating percentage donation suggestions.

We need to put the image in the Documents tab, but that doesn't exist in Lightning yet.

- Document Name: something like "PTS Donation Page - [description]"
- Externally Available Image: checked

- Click Choose File
2.6.10. Right click your image and click "Copy Image Location", then paste this into a text editor for safe keeping
We're gonna use this link in just one second! It should look something like this:
https://[YOUR-ORG-DOMAIN]--c.na54.content.force.com/servlet/servlet.ImageServer?id=0150a000003xQAi&oid=00D0a000002VbKK&lastMod=1592269591000
2.6.16. Find the Donation Call to Action field; click where you want the image to go, then click the image icon
It's a happy little tree!
2.6.17. Fill out the pop-up form with your image's URL (the one you just copied from the Documents tab in Classic), give your image a description, then click Insert
Once you paste the URL in, you'll see a preview of it in the pop-up.

Here's a link back up to the description of the other PTS Donation fields.

3.5. Scroll down to the "Public Ticket Donation Label" field, then clear out all of these fields completely:
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
No, you cannot. This is because carts can have tickets from many Ticketable Events - if your client is buying a ticket for Hamlet and also Romeo and Juliet, which specific donation landing page should be displayed?
