The PTS Footer: Add Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, and More: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1084936
As we've noted on our blog before, trust is perhaps the most important aspect of your relationship with your patrons. That's why we recommend you include crucial information for ticket buyers - such as your refund and return policies - directly in the footer your public ticketing site (PTS).
In this article, we'll show you how to:
- Gather the information you should include on your PTS
- Add the information to your PTS
After you've gathered everything up, it should take about 20 minutes to add it to your PTS. Let's get going!
1. Gather the information to include on your public ticketing site
You'll want the following pieces on hand:
Be sure you're clear on what your patrons should expect if they need to change their tickets after purchase.
If you haven't already, put your policy into written words and make it as succinct as possible - the essence of it should fit right in your PTS's footer without linking out to an an external website.
Your privacy policy should include what information you're collecting, what you're doing with that data, who has access to it, how you're storing it, and how to contact you if they have questions. This policy applies to more than just your public ticketing site, but to how your organization handles data as a whole - from analytics data gathered as they visit your website, to their contact information they provide you as they make a donation.
If you don't already have a privacy policy, now's the time to create one! If you already have one, be sure it's available on your organizaton's website.
It's important your patrons know what will appear on their credit card statement after they make a purchase from your site - any surprises there can lead to mistaken chargeback claims!
If you have a separate mailing address (like a P.O. box), be sure to grab your physical address instead.
2. Time to put that info on your public ticketing site
You've put the work to gather the information listed above - let's make it visible to your patrons.
2.3. Scroll down to the "Public Site Settings" area and enter your DBA name (if applicable) and physical address
2.4. Enter the URL for your privacy policy
2.5. Enter your terms and conditions
Your return, refund, and cancellation policy should appear in the Terms and Conditions text block. If you have additional terms and conditions and have them listed on a separate web page, paste that URL in the Terms and Conditions URL field.
Sometimes, especially if your organization is undergoing a rebrand, you may wish to update the name that appears in the copyright notice at the bottom of your PTS.
When you need to do this, here are the steps to take!
