How to Activate the Ticket Design Tool: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1778733
Released in February 2024, the Ticket Design Tool (or TDT for short) lets you create your own Point-of-Sale ticket layout from a default starting point, test the draft version before publishing, and make adjustments later on whenever you'd like.
In this article we'll show you how to get started with the Ticket Design Tool, including:
- Adjusting a setting so you can start using the TDT
- Creating, testing, and publishing your designs
- Activating the TDT so PatronManager will use your new designs
- Deciding which ticket cards should print in PatronManager Box Office
- And a few FAQs
Ready to get started? Let's jump in!
Before you begin: flip a setting to use the TDT
Before you use the Ticket Design Tool for the first time you'll need to make a quick adjustment in Setup.
You'll only have to do this once, but if you skip this step, you may be unable to interact with the layout editor.
3. Uncheck this box (if it's checked)
Scroll down to the Lightning Web Security section and make sure the "Use Lightning Web Security for Lightning web components and Aura components" checkbox is unchecked:
4. Save
If the box was previously checked and you unchecked it, be sure to scroll to the bottom and save the change!
If the box was already unchecked when you arrived, you're all set.
5. Log out of PatronManager and log back in
Because this is a session setting, your browser will likely remember the previous setting until you start a new session. Log out of PatronManager and then log back in.
If you still have trouble interacting with the canvas in the Ticket Design Tool even though the above checkbox is unchecked, try logging out and clearing your browser cache, then log in again.
Create, test, and publish your designs
Time for the fun part! Head over to this article for complete instructions to design your tickets, test your designs, and publish each card.
Once you're finished designing and have published all the cards, come back here to finish activating the TDT.
When you're first getting started with the Ticket Design Tool, you'll need to publish a layout for each card before you can activate the TDT and replace your legacy ticket layouts.
Once you've activated the TDT, publishing a card will take effect for your real tickets right away.
Activate the Ticket Design Tool
Once you're happy with your designs and once you've published a layout for each card, you can activate the TDT! You'll only have to do this once.
Activating the TDT replaces your legacy ticket layouts with the designs you created in the Ticket Design Tool. There is no going back, so make sure you've tested thoroughly.
Ready? Activate the TDT in PatronTicket Settings, here:
If the button is visible but not clickable, you haven't published a layout for each card yet. Head back into the TDT and make sure you've clicked the "Publish Draft" button for all five cards (Header, Organization Info, Main Ticket, Receipt, and Signature).
If the button is not visible at all, you've already activated the TDT, and this step is done!
Choose which ticket cards to print in PMBO
When you activate the Ticket Design Tool, all cards will print via the box office by default.
If you don't want to print all the cards, adjust the PMBO Printing Settings in PatronTicket Settings. For example, perhaps you only use the Header card during batch printing: you can click edit at the top of the page and then uncheck that option here.
When you batch print tickets you can always choose which cards to print, so the choice you're making here only affects PatronManager Box Office.
Frequently Asked Questions
When you activate the Ticket Design Tool, your old ticket layouts are replaced and no longer used.
That means you can't mix and match (e.g. keep your old version of the Main Ticket and use the TDT to design the Receipt). You'll need to design and publish all cards in the TDT.
When you activate the Ticket Design Tool, PatronManager no longer uses your old ticket layouts, it only pays attention to the new TDT designs.
Yes! As soon as you activate the TDT, the batch printing feature will automatically use the TDT layouts you published.
Note that using alternate stylesheets is no longer possible when the TDT is activated. If you require an alternate design for batch printing, we suggest making edits to your layouts before batch printing, then reverting them. If you need to be able to use a different layout for batch printing, please let us know via a Product Idea.
No. Once you activate the Ticket Design Tool, you cannot deactivate it or go back to your old layouts. Be sure to test carefully before you activate the TDT and switch to your new designs!
If you need to make any adjustments to your layouts, you can do that within the TDT.
