How to Start a Livestreamed Virtual Event: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1278441
This article will walk you through launching your broadcast with PatronManager's Virtual Events. Your steps are little different depending on if you are:
- Using the "Livestream (External)" option
- Using the "Livestream (RTMP)" option
Before you can launch a stream, you must have:
- Enabled and configured Virtual Events
- Decided on your content format and the streaming platform you'll use
- Set up an Event Instance for livestreaming
These steps are required, and you won't be able to proceed before you've completed them.
Using the "Livestream (External)" option
If you're using "Livestream (External)", start your meeting, webinar, or broadcast as you would normally.
Patron experience:
- Patrons will be directed to the link you provided from the PatronManager player beginning at the Instance Date/Time. They should have received their link most recently from your Automatic Pre-Show Email Template.
Keep in mind that not all ticket-holders will arrive on time, so just as with a "real" event, consider holding for a couple minutes.
Starting the stream on time and putting up a slide or a still image to let folks know you'll start in a couple minutes is a good idea!
Using the "Livestream (RTMP)" option
If you're using "Livestream (RTMP)", launch the stream from within your streaming software (we've included some tips below).
Patron experience:
- Patrons will click their ticket link and watch the stream in the PatronManager player window. They should have received their link most recently from your Automatic Pre-Show Email Template.
- If your stream content starts after the Instance Date/Time, patrons see a message that "The stream should begin momentarily" until you start sending content to the player.
Keep in mind that not all ticket-holders will arrive on time, so just as with a "real" event, consider holding for a couple minutes.

1. Start your Zoom Meeting
Remember: you can only stream to a custom RTMP endpoint from a Zoom Meeting, not from a Webinar!
3. A page will likely open in your browser and show a progress bar
It takes a few seconds to launch the stream.
4. The webpage will reload, and you should be live!
The page may load with an error message: that is fine. You can confirm that you're streaming by clicking "More" again in Zoom, and you should now see an option to "Stop the Livestream".
