How to Use Custom Cart Text: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1053814
Custom Cart Text appears in a patron's cart when they've added tickets to a specific Event Instance. Custom Cart Text can be used to say anything you want, but is most often used for two purposes:
- To encourage patrons to purchase additional tickets to similar events
- To provide important point-of-purchase reminders or warnings
Let's take a look!
First things first: make a plan
Before you get started, you'll want to decide on the purpose and content of your custom cart text. Here are a few tips:
Upselling: keep it simple and include a link
Don't use the Cart Text to explain everything about the add-on you think the patron should purchase. Give it a snappy marketing line and a nice clear link, instead!
Patron warnings: keep it short and use some bold text
If your warning is a paragraph long, your patrons are likely to either stop reading or lose interest in their purchase. Keep it short, and limit it to information that is specific to that particular performance.
For general warnings like "no late seating" or "performances happen rain or shine", use the Terms & Conditions in the PTS footer instead.
Bad warning:
If you want or need to give patrons a longer warning, we recommend putting the longer warning in the Custom Order Confirmation Email or the Pre-Show Template!
3. Find and click on the Event
This is the Event (and Instance below) where you want to add the Custom Cart Text.
4. Scroll down and click on the Event Instance
Since Custom Cart Text is Event Instance-specific, the best way to add the same Custom Cart Text to every Instance in an Event is to add it when setting up the first Event Instance and then clone that Instance.
6. Enter your message in the Custom Cart Text field
The field supports basic formatting (e.g. bold and italic text) and links.
Add the link to the URL box (be sure to include the "https://" part) and click Save:
Use the dropdown menu for Open link in... to decide if the link should open in the current window or a new window when someone clicks it. For links to other pages on the PTS, we recommend opening in the current window.
