The standard Order Confirmation Classic Email Template condenses the ticket order details for single-ticket orders with 20 or more tickets, but there may be times when you want to send the line-item details for a large order to your patron (e.g. they want to see specific seat details).
You'll need a custom order confirmation Classic email template to send the seat information in a secondary email confirmation for these large orders.
In this article, we'll go over:
- Create a new, custom order confirmation Classic email template specifically for these large orders
- Raise the ticket detail limit on your new order confirmation template
- Send the new template when your patron wants all their ticket details
Setting up your new template should take about 30 minutes. Let's jump in!
1. Create a new, custom order confirmation Classic email template
Follow instructions in the first section of this article. When it's time to name the template, call it "Large Order Confirmation - Seat Info".
Complete all the steps in that article until you get to "Customize an Order Confirmation Template." Stop there, then come back here and continue below.
2. Raise the ticket detail limit on your new order confirmation template
The template's "ticket detail limit" tells it when to summarize details, and when to write them out - and that's what we need to change.
Do not raise this limit on your standard Order Confirmation Classic email template - your order confirmation emails can break and not send properly!
2. Raise the limit of ticket details to include in the template
Look at the template and find where it says: Details of your order are provided below.
You'll see a string of text that begins with: <PatronTicket:
At the end of this line, find where it says: summaryViewThreshold="20"
3. Send the new template when your patron wants all their ticket details
Alright, it's showtime! A patron has just placed a large ticket order, and they would like an order confirmation with the seat details in it. They've already received the condensed order confirmation, but now we'll send the "Large Order Confirmation - Seat Info" template we just created as a secondary confirmation.
3. Click Select Template and choose your new template
Can't find the new template? Check the properties of the template in Setup and be sure the "Available For Use" check box is checked.
