When your patrons go online to purchase tickets, they have 60 minutes by default to complete their order. With the cart timer feature, you can shorten this time limit to help reduce the number of abandoned carts and build a sense of urgency to increase your sales.

How to set up and adjust the cart timer
Let's learn how to enable the cart timer feature and adjust the time until the cart expires; you can set the time limit between 5 and 60 minutes.
1. Head over to PatronTicket Settings via the PatronTicket Hub
3. Scroll down to the "Public Site Settings" section, and find the Display PTS Cart Timer field
- Display PTS Cart Timer: Check this box to enable and display the cart timer
- PTS Cart Time Limit: Highlight the time from the listed options (in minutes) a patron has to complete an online ticket purchase
- Save your changes!
You need to check the Display PTS Cart Timer field to activate the custom cart time limit.

The automated seat releasing function that's built into PatronManager runs every five minutes. When you enable the cart timer, it could take anywhere from a few seconds to five minutes to appear.
Your cart timer color is controlled by the colors you selected in the Theme Builder for your Public Ticketing Site.
The short answer here is no. The cart timer limit only applies to patrons purchasing tickets from your Public Ticketing Site.
Seats siting in an expired cart won't sit there for long! The built-in automated seat releasing function runs every five minutes, so depending on when the cart expires, the seats will free up anywhere between a few seconds and five minutes.
Once a patron's cart expires, they'll be able to start a new Order and purchase any seats that are available at that time. If the seats they originally wanted aren't immediately available, the longest they'll need to wait is five minutes before those seats are free.
