When you're creating your upcoming season, if your subscriptions are similar to previous years, it may be easier to clone an existing subscription than it is to make a new subscription from scratch.
To save time by cloning your subscriptions, in this article we'll go over:

Considerations for cloning subscriptions
Cloning a subscription can be a time saver when you're building your subscriptions for your upcoming season. But because subscriptions are built differently than regular events, there are a few things to consider when you clone your subscriptions.
If your subscriptions will be staying very similar next season, then cloning your subscriptions can be a helpful way to save some time.
But if you're planning some changes to your subscriptions for next season, you may find it easier to start building new, fresh subscriptions instead of trying to clone your current subscriptions.
In particular, as yourself the following questions:
- Will the type of subscription (i.e. Fixed, Choose Your Own, Pick Later) stay the same?
- Will the subscription packages (i.e. Opening Night, First Fridays, Second Sundays, etc.) stay the same?
- Will the allocations within each subscription package (i.e. Orchestra, Balcony, etc.) stay the same?
If the answer to any of these questions is no, then you may find it easier to start building your subscriptions from scratch instead of cloning your subscriptions.

When you clone your subscription packages, you'll clone the allocations and subscription price levels within that package, saving you time from building those.
But since subscription price levels get their dollar value based on the Price Level associations to the individual events in your season, you will still need to associate the retail Price Levels you created for subscriptions in your events for this season.
Happy to! Let's say we're cloning our 2024 Subscription and its fixed Opening Night package for our 2025 season.
Cloning this package will create the 2025 Subscription and Opening Night package for us. It will also create the Orchestra, Mezzanine, and Balcony allocations for us and the Regular and Student price levels.
But the Regular and Student price levels will still need us to go in and associate the correct Price Levels for this subscription package. In other words, to give the Regular and Student price levels value, we'll need to connect these with the Regular Subscription and Student Subscription price levels in each of our individual events in the 2025 season, like Aida, Brahms in Concert, The Nutcracker, and Come From Away.
How to clone a subscription
In this example, we'll clone a Fixed Subscription and its packages.
1. Head to PatronTicket Hub, and go to Event Inventory
2. Find and click on the subscription you'll clone
You can use the filters at the top to narrow your search.
3. Click "Clone"
4. Fill in the details for your new subscription
- New Ticketable Event Name: Name your new subscription
- Make Active: Keep this unchecked for now - you'll activate it later when you're ready
- Include Ticket Allocations: Check this box so you don't have to recreate your allocations on your newly-cloned packages
- Include Ticket Price Levels: Check this box to clone the price levels in the package allocations
- Include Discount Code Associations: Check this box if you want to clone any associated discount codes
- Include Seat Notes: Check this box if you want to clone seat notes associated with allocations in the subscription packages
- Include Managed Content: Check this box if you want to clone the managed content in the packages (i.e. Small Event Image and Large Event Image for the Public Ticketing Site)
- Event Instances: Check the boxes for the subscription packages you want to clone
- Click "Clone" when you're ready
5. Fill in the subscription information - and make sure the Type field is set to "Subscription" and click "Save" when you're done
You'll be able to fill in all of the fields you normally can when setting up a Ticketable Event, like the Sort Order, "Sold Out" Message, custom Confirmation Email Templates, Description, and more!

6. Scroll down to your cloned package(s) and click on the first one in the list
7. Click "Edit"
8. Make any edits to this newly-cloned subscription package, and click "Save"
Some important fields that you'll want to check and update are the Instance Date, Sale Start Date, Sale End Date, and Detail!
9. Scroll down to the Allocations section, and click "Expand All"
Look at that! All the allocations from the packages we cloned from the subscription are on this new package. What a time saver.
10. Time to associate your price levels - click the Price Levels link on the first allocation
11. Find the price levels you want to associate, and click "Associate Selected Price Levels"
12. All the Price Levels you selected are now on the Associated Price Levels section! Click "Done"
13. We now see a Subscription price, as well as the number of price levels associated with this allocation
14. Repeat steps 10-13 for the remaining price levels and allocations
15. Repeat steps 6-14 for your remaining subscription packages
How to clone a subscription package
We'll use a pro-rated fixed subscription as an example.
1. Head to PatronTicket Hub, and go to Event Inventory
2. Find and click on the subscription with the package you'll clone
Use the filters at the top to narrow your search.
3. Scroll to the subscription packages and click on the package you'll clone
4. Click "Clone"
5. Fill in the information, then click "Clone"
- New Event Instance Name: The name for this new subscription package
- Include Ticket Allocations: Keep checked to keep the allocations in your package, like Orchestra, Mezzanine, Balcony, etc.
- Include Ticket Price Levels: Keep checked to keep the price levels in your package, like Adult, Regular, Comp, etc.
- Include Discount Code Associations: Check this box if you want to clone any associated discount codes
- Include Seat Notes: Keep checked to clone seat notes associated with allocations in the subscription packages
- Make Active: Keep unchecked - you'll make this package active when you're ready to put it on sale
- Clone
6. Make any edits to this newly-cloned subscription package, and click "Save"

7. Scroll down to the Allocations section, and click "Expand All"
Look at that! All the allocations from the packages we cloned from the subscription are on this new package. What a time saver.
