How to Enable Mobile Tickets: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1737014
Switching to Mobile Tickets is easy, and you only have to do it once! If you've got a square version of your logo already, enabling Mobile Tickets should take you about five minutes. Here's what you'll do:
- Check two boxes in Setup
- Upload a mini version of your logo
- Switch a setting for one email template
- Check a box to turn on Mobile Tickets!
That's all there is to it!
We've included some recommended next steps at the end to help you take advantage of all the benefits of using Mobile Tickets, and you can of course customize them to your heart's content. All that can come later, though - for now, let's flip the switch to turn them on!
1. Activate two Remote Site Settings
These two settings are necessary for Google Wallet tickets. They already exist in your account, so all you have to do is turn them on - it only takes a second!
2. Upload a Mobile Ticket Logo
A small logo on tickets in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet helps patrons identify your organization, and it's required to enable the feature.
2.1. Prepare your logo image
You'll need an image that meets these criteria:
- Square PNG or JPG file
- Small file size (the smallest that will still look nice and clear) so your mobile tickets load quickly (200 pixels square should be plenty, 660 pixels square is the max)
- Full-bleed background color (to mimic a transparent background, you can use the same background color as the header of your PTS - you can find this in your PTS Theme Builder)
- 15% margin so it works with Google Wallet's circular format
Once you've got your image ready, move on to the next step!
2.2. In PatronTicket Settings, click the "Mobile Ticket Logo" button
You can get to PatronTicket Settings from the Waffle, or with a link at the top right corner of the PatronTicket Hub.
You'll find the "Mobile Ticket Logo" button at the bottom of the first section on the page:
2.4. Make sure it looks right
Once you've uploaded the logo you'll see a preview for each type of device: Apple Wallet on the left, and Google Wallet on the right. It'll appear against your mobile ticket background color (based on the theme of your Public Ticketing Site).
If you're unhappy with either version, repeat step 1.3 above to upload a new image.
3. Switch out one email template
The "Email Tickets Template" is used when you click "Email Tickets" on a completed Ticket Order, and you'll need to switch it to use the version that includes the mobile ticket link. The new template already exists in your account, so you just need to select it and save!
3.2. Adjust the "Email Tickets Template" as shown, then save
Beside "Email Tickets Template", use the dropdown to select "PatronTicket: Mobile Ticket Template". Then scroll up (or down) to find the Save button on the page, and save!
You can adjust the contents of this template later if you need to, but finish enabling Mobile Tickets first.
4. Turn on mobile tickets
Once you've completed the steps above, you're ready to enable mobile tickets!
4.2. Check the box to "Enable Mobile Tickets" and save!
You'll find the "Enable Mobile Tickets" checkbox near the bottom of the first section. Check the box, scroll back to the top of the page to find the "Save" button, and save!
Once you've enabled mobile tickets, the "Enable Mobile Tickets" checkbox will disappear, along with fields related to the (now disabled) legacy Print-at-Home ticket. If you don't see the checkbox to "Enable Mobile Tickets", that means it's already enabled!
That's all there is to it! Now your patrons will receive mobile tickets as outlined in this article.
Recommended Next Steps
Now that Mobile Tickets are up and running, you'll probably want to spend a few minutes making them look great. We also recommend adding the mobile ticket link with your pre-show emails, since that's one of the greatest advantages to using Mobile Tickets.
If you sell subscriptions, you should also make sure the ticket link shows up correctly in your subscription confirmation emails.
Here are the next steps to take when you're ready:
We strongly recommend adding the mobile ticket link to your automated pre-show emails so that your patrons won't have to hunt through their inbox for their order confirmation.
Just add this merge field to your pre-show email template, and note that the button will only appear for orders where the Delivery Method is "Email":
[% TicketOrder__c.MobileTicketLink %]
If you sell subscriptions, and particularly if you sell Pick-Your-Own-Seat Subscriptions online, you'll want to make sure that your patrons receive their mobile ticket links in the confirmation email for fulfilled subscription packages.
Head over to How to Include Fulfillment Items in Order Confirmation Emails to make sure this is set up correctly.
The mobile ticket includes several optional fields to help you get information to your patrons. You can also add images to make them look fantastic!
Head over to this article when you're ready to customize your mobile tickets.
Your order confirmation emails will always include the mobile ticket link for orders with the "Email" delivery method, so no worries there.
However, we suggest reviewing the language in those emails when you have a minute. For example, the conditional text for the "Email" delivery method may refer to a PDF attachment, which of course doesn't apply when you're sending mobile tickets.
If you want to change the text that appears in your order confirmation email for mobile tickets, only edit the text after the line reading
<apex:outputText rendered="(!relatedTo.PatronTicket__DeliveryMethod__c == 'Email')"
and before the tag that closes this section, which reads </apex:outputText>.
Make sure not to add the entire code from the Mobile Ticket Template, as this will prevent your order confirmation email template from working.
Here are instructions to review and update your confirmation emails!
You may have some text in the Delivery Information field on the Public Ticketing Site that refers to PDF or Print-at-Home tickets. You may wish to update this to reflect the switch to mobile tickets, which you can do from PatronTicket Settings with these steps.
