July 2020 Release Webinar
Coming Soon: PatronManager Virtual Events
This feature will be available very soon -- check out the above webinar to learn more, and keep an eye on your email for further details!
Are you offering digital content to your patrons? Do you want to be able to ticket those experiences and gather patron data in the process? We hear you! The PatronManager Virtual Events integration allows you to ticket livestreamed virtual experiences for your patrons, automatically track attendance, and control access by ticket.
And that's not all -- we'll soon be releasing an on-demand component, allowing you to sell tickets to pre-recorded content that your patrons can watch when they choose.
Sell tickets to virtual events
Ticket virtual events -- whether paid or free -- via PatronManager, gather patron data, and take advantage of all the things your ticketing system can already do. Sell virtual events as part of a subscription package? You've got it. Offer special access or pricing to members or VIPs? No problem.
Host livestreamed events via PatronManager
Host free events on other platforms while automatically tracking attendance in PatronManager, or host paid events on the Patron Technology platform for attendance tracking plus full access control. You can stream live or pre-recorded content for patrons to watch at a designated date/time.
Deliver virtual tickets automatically
Control access and automatically deliver tickets, with the original order confirmation and in branded/automated pre-show reminder emails.
Sell recorded content to watch on demand
Currently in development for release later this summer! Upload a video via PatronManager and sell time-limited tickets to your patrons for them to watch your content at the time they choose.

New PTS Enhancements
Reminder: the legacy Public Ticketing Site will be retired on August 31.
Make the switch today!
The new PTS includes a number of features that weren't available on the legacy PTS, like Passcodes, Event Category filters, and a calendar view. Check out these other new options:
Have you ever wanted to place a field on your checkout page and require patrons to fill it out in order to complete their Order? Perhaps you'd like them to check a box to acknowledge your refund or social distancing policy, or select whether or not they'll need parking in your lot. Now you can!
Custom fields can be added to the PTS, to the internal PatronManager Box Office, or both, and can now be marked as required in either place. Ready to get started? Check out this article to learn all about adding custom fields to your Ticket Orders, and refer to the FAQs at the end of that article to see how to mark a field as required.
Warning: do not mark the field as "required" on the field setup page. Instead, follow the steps in the article linked above!
Each Ticketable Event contains three fields for custom messaging on Event Instances that are sold out, not on sale yet, or no longer on sale. Filling in these fields will cause Event Instances to appear on the PTS with the corresponding message when they meet those conditions (prior to the Event Instance Date).
For example: perhaps you're doing a limited-capacity in-person performance, and once it sells out you'd like to direct patrons to a waitlist or to a live streamed version. Or maybe you're doing a Passcode-based presale for members, and you'd like to encourage other patrons to purchase a membership for access. Now you can easily add those hyperlinks to the messaging fields:
Do you perform at a venue in the round, or a similar setup where the stage is in the seating area? You may prefer to flip the stage arrow on your seating chart to better indicate the specific location of the stage.
Now you can easily flip the stage arrow on the new PTS by checking a box on the Venue in PatronManager:
Email financial reports to non-users
Have you ever wanted to automatically email financial reports (like the Event Summary Report for a given Ticketable Event) to a non-PatronManager user, like a promoter or a rental client? Now you can!
Head over to the Financial Reports tab via the PatronTicket Hub:
Run your report:
Click the "Schedule Future Runs" button:
And voila! Previously you could only schedule the report to users -- now you can add up to five additional email addresses. Note: you must still select at least one PatronManager user.
Other improvements and bug fixes
With each release we take the opportunity to improve your PatronManager experience and tidy up bits of unexpected behavior. Click the titles to expand for more info about:
If you scan tickets at the door, you may sometimes need to mark attendance for a ticket manually (perhaps for a patron arriving late, or with a damaged paper ticket). You may also need to clear the attendance marker if a ticket was scanned incorrectly.
You'll find two new buttons on the "Print" tab of a Ticket Order in PatronManager Box Office to help you do just that:
A recent bug related to Salesforce security changes prevented the new Public Ticketing Site from generating shipping tasks for online orders when the buyer chose "Ship" as their delivery method.
This has been resolved; now those orders will automatically generate reminders to mail the tickets (unless you have that option disabled in PatronTicket Settings).
A bug prevented users from typing more than two characters into the Contact lookup search box in PatronManager Box Office. This has been fixed.
That's all for now!
