How to Enable the "Display Custom Fields When Creating a New Contact" Feature: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1192999
Do you find yourself creating a new Contact, and then editing it right away?
If you opt to display and use custom fields while creating new Contacts, you won't have to do this anymore!
To enable the feature, you'll need to do some adjustments in Setup. All told, this should take about 15 minutes, so let's get started.
3. Click "Buttons, Links, and Actions" on the left bar, then search New; find New, then use the down arrow to find and click on Edit
4. Make sure your preferences are set as such, then click Save
- Salesforce Classic Override: No override (use default)
- Lightning Experience Override: Use the Salesforce Classic override
- Mobile Override: Use the Salesforce Classic override
- Click Save!
5. Now click on Page Layouts in the left bar, then click the first page layout you see
In our account, our first layout is Other Contact.
7. In the pop-up, uncheck the Required box, then click OK
9. Click the down arrow next to "Other Contact Layout" and switch to the next Contact Page Layout
In our account, our next layout to adjust is the Patron Contact layout.
10. Complete steps 6-9 until you've adjusted all the Page Layouts (except for TBQ Contact - you can ignore that one)
Be sure to adjust any custom Page Layouts you've created!
11. One last thing - are you using Volunteers for Salesforce (V4SF)?
Users of the Volunteers for Salesforce app need to complete one more step, or the app won't function properly!
You'll need to set the default Contact record type V4SF creates to the To Be Qualified record type.
12. OK, you're all done!
If you got here from the Lightning Transition Guide, you can head back there and continue on your merry way.
