PatronManager April/May 2024 Release Notes: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/1792082

Check out the latest PatronManager features and updates, and keep an eye on your email for your exact upgrade date!

This release continues our ongoing box office improvements and makes selling tickets faster and more intuitive. Now you can add a donation at any point; adjust the payment, delivery and confirmation options right up to the end; select prices for reserved seats before adding them to the cart, and more. You can also email selected Mobile Tickets (a highly-requested addition to this new feature).

Accurate, comprehensive data is key to building stronger relationships with your patrons, and that's what PatronManager is all about! Enable personal pronouns throughout the system to address your patrons how they identify, and qualify incoming Contacts more quickly with a fresh new layout.

And that's not all: get a quick overview of elements in the Ticket Design Tool, give your patrons a new way to pay with Leap Merchant Services, and accurately track quantity when reallocating seats.

Let's jump in!

Reminder: Salesforce will stop redirecting links from old "secure.force.com" URLs in September 2024.

Make sure you've updated any links to your Public Ticketing Site, Donation Forms, and Signup Forms that may appear on your website, email templates, marketing materials, etc. before Salesforce's redirect stops working.

If your links include "my.salesforce-sites.com" you're all set! Here's more information about updating links.

Box office updates

This release builds on PatronManager Box Office (PMBO) updates from the last release to make your ticket selling experience faster and easier.

We're not finished improving your box office experience - future releases will continue optimizing PMBO to bring the elements you need front and center and make better use of space.

Add a donation via the mini cart

No need to go back to a specific page when encouraging a patron to give alongside their ticket purchase! You can now add a donation right from the mini cart anytime during the sales process. That includes on the payment page!

Update payment and delivery options on the payment page

During our conversations with clients this was the most frequent request we heard from you: to please make it possible to change things on the payment page, without having to backtrack. Now you can freely adjust the confirmation email, Payment Method, Order Origin, Delivery Method, Order Source, and Donation Amount, and more - all without leaving the payment page!

Since adjusting aspects of the order can change the order total, your updates will finish processing before you'll be able to complete the payment.

Select prices before adding seats to the cart

Save time by selecting the right Price Level up front, rather than changing it after you've added the seat to the cart (of course you can still change it later if you need to).

Email selected Mobile Tickets

Have you enabled Mobile Tickets yet? There's no time like the present! If you've been following along with this exciting recent feature, you may have noticed that it previously wasn't possible to email only selected mobile tickets on a completed order.

Many of you suggested Product Ideas to allow sending only specified Mobile Tickets, and now you can! That means:

  • You can choose which specific tickets to send manually on the Print tab
  • The Exchange Confirmation email will include only the new tickets
  • Pre-show emails with the mobile tickets merge field will include only tickets for the relevant Event Instance

Other box office improvements

This release contains even more adjustments to make selling tickets faster and easier. Click the headers for a detailed look at the additional improvements!

See the Runtime and Internal Description more easily

You can specify the running time and/or an Internal Description on the Ticketable Event, to give ticket sellers more information to quickly answer questions. You can now clearly see these pieces of information from the moment you choose an Event right up through adding it to the cart.

As soon as you click an Event:

On the GA selection page:

Above the section and seat map:

Click any of the banners to view full text if long:

While you can add as much info to the Internal Description field as you'd like, we encourage putting important warnings first. That way they'll be immediately obvious to sellers without an extra click.

More space for the seat map

The seat legend is now out of the way, giving you more space to find optimal seats.

You can still hover over any seat to get a quick look at pricing and Allocation details, but if you need to see the full legend, no problem - click to display it beside the map:

Qualification improvements

We've updated the user experience for qualifying incoming Contacts to make it easier to keep your data clean.

The new record you're qualifying now appears at the top of the page (1), with any additional information (e.g. about their Ticket Order or Donation) expandable if needed (2). Potential matches appear below (3), with data columns matching the incoming Contact to help you easily identify the right match or create a new Contact if no true matches exist.

Existing Contact records are also now linked so you can easily open them in a new tab to view more details and make changes if needed!

Qualifying a record works the same way as before, but streamlined to eliminate unnecessary clicks. And when the system doesn't find any potential matches, your task is even easier! Adjust the default Account Name and/or Record Type if needed, and click Qualify Record:

You can set your default Account naming convention and Record Type in PatronSignup Settings.

Personal pronouns

Ensure a welcoming environment and build stronger relationships by addressing your patrons properly.

You'll be able to activate the Personal Pronouns feature on the Public Ticketing Site and in the Box Office (and optionally disable the Salutation field), add the field to Donation Forms and Signup Forms, display it on your Contact Page Layouts, and handle updated values during qualification.

Your patrons can then provide you with their pronouns any time they interact with your organization, so that you can in turn address them accurately.

Excited about the new Personal Pronouns feature? A complete overview of how to enable it in your account is coming soon!

Other improvements

Ticket Design Tool enhancements

Have you tried out the Ticket Design Tool yet? We know there are a lot of things you can add to your tickets, and it can be a little confusing. Now you can hover over an element to see exactly what it is before adding it to the canvas:

The TDT also now displays the size (in pixels) of the Event Image container, so you can more easily ensure you're holding the right space for that image on the layout:

Leap Merchant Services update

Have you switched to Leap Merchant Services yet? The majority of PatronManager clients are already taking advantage of all the great new features included in our in-house payment processing solution, so don't delay.

Link is a digital wallet built by Stripe (like Google Pay and Apple Pay, which are already built in to Leap Merchant Services) and we're excited to add this payment option! Your online buyers and donors will soon have one more convenient way to pay, and there's no extra effort and no additional cost for you.

We plan to add Link to Leap Merchant Services in May 2024. You don't need to take any action; your patrons will automatically have access to this new option when it rolls out!

View up-to-date quantity while reallocating seats

If you need to adjust the specific seats that are public vs private or move seats from one pricing tier to another, you're probably reallocating seats. Previously, it was hard to keep track of exactly how many seats were in each Allocation as you moved seats around.

Now the current Original Quantity (i.e. total seats) and Retail Quantity (i.e. unsold seats) across each Allocation appear handily on the reallocation page:

Update your email preferences via the Client Community
