Amount Tendered
When you select cash as the payment method, a new field in which to enter the Amount Tendered appears automatically.
There are three values you'll need to consider when submitting an order with cash payment method:
- Order Total is the total value of the order.
- Payment Amount is the amount the patron is paying you right now if they're making a partial payment.
- Amount Tendered is the amount of cash the patron is handing over.
In the Quick Order Form, Amount Tendered must be greater than the Payment Amount:
And in Box Office Express, which does not support partial payments, the Amount Tendered must simply be greater than the Order Total:
Change Calculations
We’ll subtract the amount of the order from the amount entered in that field and provide a helpful message informing you how much change to issue to the patron when the sale is complete. In the Quick Order Form, that'll look like this:
