What's New in This Release

We're pleased to offer a much-anticipated addition to PatronManager's integration with Smart Transaction Systems (STS) for a complete gift card solution. Your patrons can now redeem a gift card online when purchasing tickets via the new public ticketing site. For organizations that charge sales tax, good news: you can now use STS for your gift cards. All in time for the holiday season!

Redeem gift cards online

We've partnered with a leading gift card company, Smart Transaction Systems (STS), to provide a robust gift card management system you can use with PatronManager's ticketing system. Your patrons can purchase gift cards (physical cards and/or virtual/digital ones) and easily send those cards to their friends.

Patrons can then redeem their gift cards when buying tickets at the box office or by phone -- and now also online via the new public ticketing site.

Not yet using STS for your gift cards? It doesn't take long to get up and running.

Once you've got the latest and greatest STS integration set up, you'll be able to check a box in PatronTicket Settings to enable online gift card redemption:

Which will show a new option during checkout, allowing patrons to use a gift card:

If their gift card balance isn't sufficient to cover the order total, they'll be prompted for a credit card to cover the remaining balance:

If you're already using STS, head over here to learn how to enable online redemption.

Partial payments with sales tax

Previously, organizations that charge sales tax were not able to process multiple partial payments. Now, you can use both features together -- complete a Ticket Order with split payments, even if you charge sales tax!

This also means that you can now use STS for your gift card solution if you charge sales tax, which was not possible before. If you've been holding off on gift cards for this reason, click here to get started.

New to partial payments? We've got instructions, as well as some considerations to keep in mind if you charge sales tax.

Improvements to the new PTS

The new public ticketing site was released earlier this year, and each new release brings you incremental improvements and bug fixes -- many of which are based on your feedback.

Click to see what's new for the PTS

Links to buy tickets are now buttons that use your brand colors. This makes them easier to see and easier to click on mobile, leading your patrons smoothly through the purchase process.

This is also true for the "Learn More" link in Expanded View, which brings the patron into the purchase flow:

See the Item Count when selecting reserved seats

This helps your patrons easily see how many seats they've added to their cart -- particularly useful for larger orders or when purchasing on a mobile device.

Already using the new PTS, and have suggestions for us? Feel free to submit a Product Idea to us!

If you have already activated the new PTS, you will need to republish your theme after the release to ensure that the updates fully take effect.

Other improvements and bug fixes

That's not all! With each release, we tidy up bits of unexpected behavior and make minor adjustments to the product.

Clone Automation Templates

The last PatronManager release brought you the ability to send customized, automated pre- and post-show emails with the Automated Communications feature. Now, you can clone an existing Automation Template when you need to create a new customized email, rather than starting from scratch each time!

No more duplicate Benefits for Membership Orders with multiple payments

A bug resulted in duplicate Benefit records being created if a Membership Order was processed using multiple partial payments -- each new payment triggered a new Benefit. This has been resolved, so the system will only create one Benefit record per Membership.

Access Codes are now fully functional on the new PTS

A bug prevented patrons from changing Price Levels (for example, from Adult to Senior) while using an Access Code to reach otherwise-hidden Allocations on the new public ticketing site. This has been fixed, so Access Codes are now fully compatible with the new PTS.

New PTS always sends confirmation emails

The new PTS was mistakenly honoring the default setting for sending confirmation emails in the PatronTicket Settings tab; but that setting is intended to apply only to Ticket Orders entered internally. The issue has been resolved, so Ticket Orders submitted via the new PTS will always send a confirmation email to the patron, regardless of that checkbox.

Default Delivery Method no longer overrides Ticketable Event defaults on the new PTS

Some folks reported an issue that allowed patrons to submit a Ticket Order via the new PTS without choosing a Delivery Method, if your organization had a default Delivery Method set internally. In that case, the online Order would use that default, even if it was not supposed to be an option for one or more of the Ticketable Events in the patron's cart.

Now, your patrons will be required to choose a Delivery Method (even if you have a default option for internal use), and they'll only be able to select options that are available based on the Ticketable Events in their cart.
