December 2011 Release Notes: https://help.pm.leapevent.tech/a/51790
This article is old! Wouldn't you rather read something... fresher?
There may be outdated information or suggestions in this article that made sense at the time of the release, but no longer. For the most up-to-date information about this topic, use a keyword in the search bar above. If you're looking for more current release notes, you can find those here.
Hi PatronManager clients, our December release has arrived. Read on to get the details about partial payments, buyer fee flexibility, and our new User Guide.
Partial Payments
Let your patrons pay half now, and half later -- or put $100 on a credit card and pay the rest in cash. You can now enter partial payments (as many as you want, in any amount) on orders placed at the box office or over the phone.
By default, the "Specify Payment Amount" field shows the full amount due on the ticket order (so if you don't want to offer partial payments, you don't need to change the way you work).
Just change the amount in that field to submit a partial payment:
And three things will happen:
- The Order Status will change to "Partially Paid;"
- The Ticket Order Items will each show that there's been an amount paid against the total;
- And you'll see a Payment Transaction at the bottom of the order for the amount you entered.
The default view of the Performance Report for each show will only show money that you've actually collected, but for all performances that have Partial Payment orders, you'll also see an option to view a version of the report that includes receivables:
In early January, we'll update the User Guide in the PatronManager Help tab with more detailed instructions and information about using Partial Payments, but this feature is available immediately.
More Flexible Item Fees for Buyers
We've heard from our clients that you want more flexibility in how you charge (or waive) fees for your patrons. The new "Apply Fees/Waive Fees" button on the ticket order page lets you charge or waive per-ticket fees regardless of payment method. (It replaces the old "Waive Item Fees" checkbox that only worked for credit card orders.)
We've also added a new setting that allows you to change the default setting for how the "Payment Method" field works -- instead of always waiving fees on cash and check orders, you can choose to charge those by default (and still have control over waiving them on a case-by-case basis).
Let us know if you want to change this setting, and we can help you out.
User Guide
In case you haven't noticed yet: we've published an official user guide for PatronManager. You'll find it in the PatronManager Help tab.
The user guide covers "PatronManager Basics," ticketing and box office, financial reporting, donations, and PatronMail.
There's even a printable version that you can download, if you prefer -- just know that the online lessons will be updated more frequently than the PDF document will.
