New Error Message Option for your Public Ticketing Site

Every once in a while, there's a break in communication between PatronManager and our payment processor, and the online ticket order is left in an unfinished state, where we are unable to determine whether an order has been processed. (You experience this on the back end of things as one type of "Payment Exception.") In the past, the patron buying tickets online has received a generic error directing them to contact "customer service."

In this release of PatronManager, we're giving you more options to customize this message with contact information for your Box Office.

The general format of the new error message is the following:

Sorry, something went wrong, and we're unable to confirm that your order was processed. Please contact [Error Contact Name] at [Error Contact Information] for assistance, and reference [Ticket Order Number].

The fields to customize this information are in the PatronTicket Settings tab, in the Public Site Settings section.

You can input whatever makes sense for your organization in the Contact Info field, whether it is an email address or a phone number.

The message will appear on your Public Ticketing Site like this:

Barcode Scanner App Updates

We've made a few small improvements to the PatronTicket Barcode Scanner app -- please make sure you have auto-updates enabled so that you always have the latest version of the app on all your devices.

With this update, you'll notice that the menu has moved to the top of the app. All of the same options you're used to seeing will appear once the menu is expanded.

Coming next year: End of support for devices on Android versions earlier than 4.4 (KitKat).

As a result of an update to Salesforce's security protocol, the Barcode Scanner app will end support for Android versions prior to 4.4 early next year. We'll be reaching out to you in with more specific instructions in the coming months if this affects you directly.

New Custom Reconciliation Report with Details!

A new customizable report template called "Reconciliation Report w/ Details" has been added to your Reports tab in the Reconciliation Reports folder. If you need more detail than provided by the Disbursement Reconciliation Report in the Box Office Reports tab, this is the report for you. This new report includes ticket orders and standalone donations and should replace the "Reconciliation Report" you might be using currently. (If you're happy with the Disbursement Reconciliation Report right now -- great! You can ignore this section.)
